| Chestnut-Cho |
 |
| "Cho" means boiling down with honey. For example, boiling down dates with the seed removed in honey is called "Date-Cho". Chestnut Cho and Date Cho are kinds of sweet treats. These kinds of colorful desserts are normally served together with dried persimmon, mandarin, and fresh fruit during New Year's feast. |

1. Peel the chestnuts (soaking the chestnut in water with the peeled skin will preserve its color) 2. Dissolve sugar in water and slowly boil down the chestnuts in it over low heat. When the pulp is almost gone, add honey and boil down once more over low heat. For larger servings, sugar should be added little by little, and the foam created during boiling should be cleared away for a clearer color. 3. Sprinkle with ground pine nuts and serve on a plate. Adding cinnamon powder in the end is an option. |
