There are 2 ways in which forest tree seeds are gathered. using one method, seeds are first sowed on a seedbed, and after the trees grow, the seeds are collected. Another method requires gathering seeds from trees in the woods, but mostly the first method is used. Tree seeds are usually harvested from pine nut trees, deciduous trees, seashore pine trees, ligida pine trees, and cedars. |

Thirty-five kilograms of seeds were exported in 1995; 47 kg in 1996; and 63 kg in 1997. In 1998, $32 million worth of seeds were exported. The major customers are Japan, China, and Belgium. |
