Classification based on the standards of the association is made by the managers of each branch.

A bidding process determines the unit price. Usually the prices of first and second-class products are twice those of the third-class and non-classified products.

Appropriate preservation methods must be used because even high-grade pine-mushrooms cannot command a high price if they are not in good condition.

There are about 50 kinds of mushrooms in Korea, but hardly any of them are deadly poisonous. If one is aware of the few representative poisonous mushrooms, one can be quite safe.

Even though the number of deaths due to poisonous mushrooms has fallen, several hundred people still die from poisonous mushrooms each year. If you experience any symptoms such as vomiting, stomachache, or diarrhea, drink salt water and vomit the poisonous mushroom out. Then, go to the nearest hospital.

If there are any remaining poisonous mushrooms, take them with you to the hospital. This will help in diagnosing the treatment.
¡Ø In distinguishing a poisonous mushroom, consider the following guideline

1. It has bright colors and decays easily.
2. It has a bad odor.
3. There are no traces of insect bites.
4. It is sticky or has juice seeping out.
5. If one tries to split it, it either crumbles or doesn't split.
6. It has a white stalk with a brown wavy cup or does not have a particular shape.
7. It tastes bitter and pungent.
8. When placing a silver spoon in its juice, the spoon turns black.
9. When cut vertically, there are black spots on the inside of the stalk.
